The fruits of the labor what a sweet baptism day for Søster Holbrook

Søster Holbrook has had MANY great days on the mission so far. She is 6 months into the mission and has knocked on MANY doors. But there was a special door Søster Ludlow and her knocked on way back in October. It was Mads' door and he has had the lessons since then with Søster Ludlow, Søster Nelson and Søster Holbrook.

This last week on Saturday he joined the church and was baptized :o) What a sweet day that was and wonderful to see the fruits of the labor for a missionary.

Finally the special day is here ;o)

Søster Ludlow, Søster Holbrook, Mads and Søster Nelson.

The week was full of great times. They had a chance to have dinner with BOTH their Grandparents in the Church in Copenhagen. What a fun treat that was :o).

 I LOVE this Sister Missionary.

Three BEAUTIFUL women inside and out!!

Morfar and Mormor.. I miss them LOTS.

Morfar, "MILLE" and Mormor. LOVE ALL three of these people deep in my heart!

Both sets of Grandparents and our Sister Missionaries ;o)

Email from Søster Holbrook this week:

Hey everyone!

MADS WAS BAPTIZED!!!! It was such a special experience! He is so happy and grateful and really just a whole new person! One of his friends that he invited was crying the whole time and she told us "I want to be baptized. I feel like I am coming home." How cool is that?!? We gave her a Mormons Bog, and she's already started reading!!! Her name is P and she is so awesome. S also came to the baptism, and we are meeting with him on Thursday. We've definitely got our hands full this week!

Transfers are coming up! We get the transfer news on Saturday. I have been on Amager for six months now so anything can happen! I came across this scripture and couldn't help but think of transfers: "We have been driven out of the land of our inheritance; but we have been led to a better land." 2 Nephi 10:20. haha I hope to stay because this place is wonderful, but I don't think I would mind some change either. Either way, I trust in the Lord's plan for me. :)

This week we've been battling many forces trying to slow us down. It dumped snow, I crashed my bike TWICE, I tripped down some stairs at an investigators house, my bike broke, and about a thousand other small things but I honestly all I could think was: How wonderful is it to have an all knowing and caring and loving God that knows exactly how to lead us to be the best people we can be??

I'm learning lots (like don't walk down icy steps without holding on to the railing) and I am so happy! Why? Because I choose to be! :)

Thanks for the support!

Søster Holbrook

BEAUTIFUL Danish old church. There are so many of those kinds of building in Denmark.

Danish Bakeries are the BEST!! Just look at this FOOD HEAVEN of pasteries.

AND they got lots of snow!

What a week is has been for our sweet daughter. I am SO proud of her and the woman she is becoming. As parents we could not ask for more. She serves hard and plays hard ;o) We just love her so much. SIX months down and twelve more months to go!!

Lunch with family and lots of fun in Copenhagen

Can I just say i LOVE this picture of Søster Holbrook. It just goes right into your soul. She is BEAUTIFUL.

I love this one too. They are looking like they are having a good time together.

Søster Holbrook had the chance to meet with Mormor, Morfar and Bjørn and have a wonderful lunch date. What a treat it is for her to be bale to see her loved ones so often. That is a blessing for sure and I am glad that she has had that in Denmark.

Hey Everyone!!

M is home and is excited for his baptism on Saturday! He said he almost doesn't use his damper at all, so he just needs to take one more step and then he is ready!!!!!! I am so excited. It was been INCREDIBLE to see how much he has changed since we first found him in October. He really is a whole other person.

I love the work here on Amager! Transfers are coming up in two weeks and it is very likely that I will be leaving. It will be bitter-sweet because I certainly love the people here and the work is going strong! But a new place with new opportunities to serve will be exciting as well.

I know that God has a perfect plan for each of us! And He is so incredibly involved even in the smallest details of our life. This Sunday, Sister Nelson and I were each asked to give a 5 minute talk an hour before church. So naturally I was pretty nervous because I struggle with speaking Danish in front of a congregation, and you know what the sacrament hymn was? "There Is a Green Hill Far Away." Which is one of my favorite songs. It was a small Heaven sent blessing that helped me not be as nervous before the talk. Heavenly  Father is aware of our needs, wants, fears, thoughts and everything and He is always sending His love to us.

Have a great week!!!

Søster Holbrook loves sushi now and I love it. Looking forward to the times when we go together.

It says here: "Because you and your bum are something special". That is so Danish ;o)
 Love these two missionaries!

It really is pretty in Denmark.

Are they in Denmark or Paris with the bridge of locks :o)

Just saying ???? What the ........ And this is so sweet ;o)

I am thinking she is still likes him just a little ;o)

She has one more week down and done on the mission. We are grateful for her example and for all she is becoming!! She is a true servant of God.

It is cold outside and they even got a little snow.

Normally in Denmark they do not get a lot of snow but it seems like they have gotten a little more this year. Søster Holbrook is still enjoying being on Amager and she loves being a missionary. I can not believe that we are coming up on 1/3 of her mission being over. YES.... She has been out/gone 6 months in a few weeks. That is crazy fast and yet every week is so LONG. This is a mother talking ;o)

Søster Holbrook loves birds like her Daddy and you can see that in this picture. My favorite bird for sure is the swan, it is so beautiful !!

Søster Nelson is going for it too !!

Cleaning day at the apartment and windows need it too. I am glad it is not me sitting like that up on the 3rd floor ;o)

Email from Søster Holbrook:

Hey Everyone!

This week has been a good one! We have really applied "Teach while you find, and find while you teach" this week, and have opened the door to a handful of potentials! M is doing great! He went to church all the way in New York!!!! So that was AWESOME! He has not smoked at all since his blessing, but he still uses his damper (I think that is the danish word for a vaporizer) still after meals. But that is the only thing that he needs to get in order before his baptism. :) We met with P two times this week and he really enjoyed our lessons. He said he will pray about getting baptized! S surprised us and came to church this week, too! So things have been going really well here. I feel blessed to be on Amager!

Scott and Leslie Peterson sent me a letter this week (best surprise ever) and they said something that I loved so much I want to share it with the rest of you! "Its been cold here in Vernal. I'm sure Denmark too, but Spring will come and so will the Savior. So we just hold on and keep up the work."

Some funny tidbits from this week: Sister Nelson told someone to go to church on Sunday and then to go to a delicious bakery afterward (her face when she realized what she said was priceless!). We went to an all you can eat sushi buffet, and it awesome. I would highly recommend it!

Thanks for the love and support!

Søster Holbrook

You can only LOVE these 2 sweet missionaries!! I know I do :o)

Yep... Missionaries have to go to the dentist too if something goes wrong. Here it is Søster Nelson's turn !!

Another great week in the mission field. Grateful to have a missionary out and grateful for the way she is serving!! We love her and we love the Lord.

Zone Training on Social Media fun trip all over Denmark and of course the twice monthly lunch with Mormor and Morfar.

So Søster Holbrook and her companion has been asked to learn and then teach about Social Media and how it can help reach people and that way learn about the church and the gospel. This has been a fun way for her to learn new things and teach about it to others.  So this week Søster Nelson and her traveled to the zone conferences all over Denmark and did a little presentation and how fun it was for Søster Holbrook to other parts of Denmark.

But first of the week they had the lunch date with Mormor and Morfar and that is always a highlight of the week. I am so grateful that she gets to serve close to them.

Teaching about the Savior in a different way.

Zone Conference number one.

 Søster Holbrook is happy ;o)

Zone Conference number two.

Come and Follow Him, It will change your life .. It seems that is what they are saying and it is ture.

 Søster Nelson and Søster Holbrook.

 Zone Conference number three.

What a great week it has been for Søster Holbrook. She had a chance to see the other missionaries in Denmark and to enjoy teaching a new way to the Lord. She is happy and doing great.
