Søster Holbrook in Give.
Yep... It is the season for tights and they do NOT like it!
Email from Søster Holbrook this week:
Hey Everyone!
Big news. FALL IS HERE. All the stores are now selling jackets and scarves and I can't believe that I hit my "one-year-in-land" mark this week. As it approaches fall, I have reflected back and am just amazed by all the miracles and tender mercies that I have seen this last year. I know that God has sent me to specific areas at specific times for specific reasons.
This week we had a lot of "firsts"
-First time wearing tights this season. You can see in the picture how happy we are about it.
-First time someone threatened to call the cops on us unless we left immediately.
-First time we contacted someone on the gågade that shouted to us (after we had ended our conversation and he had walked a good 50 feet ahead of us) advice on who to contact. "Contact the young guys! They don't already have a religion!"
-First time seeing a puppy cairn terrier (that is the same breed as my dog). It was a cuteness overload.
-First time the famous bakery in our trian station gave free samples of my favorite pastry.
-First time riding a vintage train.
We had a great week! We went on splits with the Sisters in Odense. We gave trainings in two district meetings. We knocked doors. We taught repentance. We taught guest class in church. one cool experience that I will share in detail:
Last Monday we were up in Give, which is the edge of our area. We have an investigator up there we wanted to stop by and re-establish contact (which we did!). After we talked to him, we didn't really have a set plan about where to go or what to do. But we both felt very good about being in Give. We prayed and asked which area of Give we should be in (aka, should we walk to the left or the right to find somewhere to knock) and we both felt like we should go to the left. So we walked down the road and talked to the first person we met. His name is P and he is a science teacher who believes in Jesus and is trying to develop faith. As we talked to him it began to rain. He invited us into a nearby library. As we walked over there, it started to POUR. The three of us ran the rest of the way to the library, but unfortunately the damage was already done. We were pretty wet. But, it was a good first lesson and we're looking forward to meeting with him again.
Thanks for the Support!
